Watch and see how we create a project to enter in the Tunbridge Fair. Every student has a small job to do but when we work co-operatively we can make "magic".

Many Hands Make the Job Fast and Fun
Working together to build seed patterns for the woman's dress

The Farmers Pitchfork was the most important detail
Seeds need to be glued on One by One
That takes concentration and cooperation
We started the process with a sheet of Luan
that would not warp under the weight
of the seeds
wood using an overhead projector
Students create a large line drawing of the Famous Farmers and others paint the outlined figures black. The Figures are cut out overnight and we are ready to start gluing seeds.

Famous Farmers.....
A Crop Art Creation will be the
2009 Randolph Elementary School's
submission for the
Tunbridge Fair
Randolph Elementary Art Students are creating a project inspired by America’s most famous farmers for The 2009 Tunbridge fair. All of the classes will be working together gluing seeds on a large scale replica of Grant Wood’s painting American Gothic. It is the portrait of the farmer with a pitchfork and his wife. This type of art creation is called crop art and fits in with our school wide theme of connecting farms and community.
